Happy Birthday Meaghan! I hope you have a great day!
I am unbelievably excited to leave this country! I have had a good time and it's been a good experience but I can't wait to leave! The work I'm doing is very draining but just trying to communicate with people is even more draining! Just imagine, your in a country where you don't speak the language, but al of the people your with do. And when a person does speak english, it is very very little and you have to speak really slow and clear so that they understand. And then even still they might not understand!
It is frustrating and I am exhausted from having to do that! I have very little energy left and 2 and 1/2 days left to use it all in. I need a big energy boost. It also isn't helping that my stomach is feeling unsetteled still.
I'd say it is perfect timing though. At least it's at the end of my trip and not at the very beginning! Anyways, today is my day off and I am relaxing and packing all of my things up. I am very excited that I will be able to fit all of my things in just one suitcase! This will make things easier for me to handle. I am leaving a bunch of things here to the other volunteers and one of the workers at projects abroad has a talibe center that could use some of it.
I had a bit of a shock last night when I was talking to Banda about riding down with him to Dakar on friday night when he goes to pick up another volunteer. He had no idea what I was talking about and apparently there are no volunteers coming friday night. And to add to it I don't have enough money for a private taxi which is the only thing I would take if I had to go by myself... since I don't speak french. I am going to talk to Claire about it today, but I trust that God has his own plan about how I will be getting home so I'm trying hard not to worry about. Things will just work out somehow! But some prayer might help ; )
Last night there was a birthday party for one of the volunteers. She requested that we would all dress up like tourists. Everyone looked so silly and stupid! But it was everyone looking that way at the same time so it was alright : P I wore the Phanny (?) pack that mom told me to bring. But thats all I wore, I was really underdressed. But the party was fun. We got this really good cake and they put it on top of chocolate mousse. SO good. I miss real cake though!
I should get going. Hope everyone's days are going well!
Love you and miss you all very much!<3

Hey Lindsey,
I just got off my knees praying to make sure you have a way home! I am glad you are able to take some rest time just a few days before you come home. Sorry you are still not feeling well, I hope some of our food will set you on the right track! Hope your last few couple days are great.
Peace
David
You know why their cake isn't as good, right? Cause it's not surprise cake!!! Can't wait to see you again.
Dear Jesus, I lift up Lindsey to you and pray that you would calm her tummy and her heart. Father God bring healing and comfort to her stomach. Bless her with food that will give her energy and no discomfort. Calm her heart and assure her that she will have a ride to the airport. Provide that, Lord, I pray. Grant her safe and smooth travel on her way home, Jesus. Help her to navigate her way through layovers and plane changers and bless her with opportunities to share with the people she is seated near about what You have done in her and through her. We love you and we thank you. In Jesus' name, AMEN!
I completely agree with Mere, the cake wasn't as yummy because it wasn't surprise Valentines day cake. That was a lot of fun! I'm sorry your stomach is still acting funny, but just think you've just got a few more days left and then you can eat regular food! Can't wait to see you, and I'm sure God has already taken care of your ride. God bless you and love,
Heather
PS thanks for posting I really look forward to it after school, each day

You know that i love you and God does too. I also have been praying for you and your upset stomaches and the travel home. however i know God will bring you home and you will not be stranded and you will find help and rest when you turn to the Lord.
Even though you are weak, he is strong, even though you can't do a lot of the things you would like and feel weak, he is strong and will make sure he helps you. It's a very short time before you come home and it'll go by faster if you can eliminate the worry you feel and know that you are loved and are taken care of and we will al be so excited to see you.
I am literally about to cry just thinking about how happy i will be to see you in less than 2 days now. i am so joyful to have you, and i am glad i can be here for you.
I can't think of much else to say but to stay strong and know that God and our prayers and love are with you.
Love
-Nick
and remember these good words:
" Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The Lord is the everlasting God, the creator of all earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding. He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint."
Isaiah 40: 28-31
