Hello Friends!
How is everything at home going? What's the weather like? Is anything different? I want to make sure I'm not missing out on anything! ; )
Yesterday was really interesting....
After I got home from the online cafe I decided to help make some fish dumplings.... I think that's what they were! It was fun! All I do is take dough and make it thin and round, and then the aunt from my host family put some fish stuff in it, and then I would fold it over and push the sides down.... and then they would fry it in oil. Hard to explain, I have pictures of me doing this though! I did that for about an hour or two.
After we finished the power randomly went out in the whole island. It was so dark! (obviously since it was night...) But it was nice to be able to see the stars, they were so bright since there was not light hiding them. We all got out our flashlights and candles and sat around making shadows on the the wall. It was really funny because that was something I don't they have done or seen before! They were so interested in it!
The power was out for about 2 hours I think.
Nothing else has really happened here! I'm kind of bored of everything here.... lol. I don't know what it is.... but anyways, I'm going to go!
I hope you all have a really great day! Miss you!!!

I can't believe the power went out there, and i can't believe more how different it mustve seemed to have the power turn off in a different place then here. remember the big blackout we had here? maybe you should tell them about that how it was across several states. luckily it wasn't at night when that happened

It will keep getting easier "day by day". sorry that reminded me of the song from Godspell.

I hope you are still reading and praying and keeping well with the Lord. i ask him each and everyday to take care of you and give you the love that i have for you so you can feel peace.

Talk again later

I personally like it when the power goes out here. But it must be different in Africa! It is a good thing you brought a flashlight! Our weather here is cold and windy, and kinda drizzly. How did the fish dumplings taste? It sounds like your having fun. I'm so glad. God bless

Hi Lindsey,

I am reading your letters with great interest and hear your pain for the children who have to beg and live in such demanding ways. I am praying for you and your days there. You really are getting a powerful picture of the other side of the world. I have no answers , but know only that is why God wants us to go and spread the truth of His word,You are making ripples every minute of the days you are there. Your nature speaks louder than words. Your love for your God is on your face and in your eyes, as well as your heart. We never get to see the impact we have on others. Your reaching out for your loved ones is of God. He is in EVERYTHING, believe it or not, even in the misery of these children of His. He warned us that it would be better to have a millstone around our necks and drown, than to harm one of His children. We can't say why, but know that He is in control
I do hope that you are feeling better. Your defences were down, and you felt alone. Yet we all pray constantly for you! I think of you often with prayers in my heart.
The other side of the world we are used to is often full of pain and
hurt. Strange to us who never have seen it, but that is reality. Growing up is painful, but that is the route you choose and there will be the day you will be glad to have had a broader view, and you will be more affective to witness.
Stretch out your hand and take Jesus' into yours. Your walk will become easier and more meaningful.
I hug you and love you, but He does it better than I could ever think of
doing it.

Love , hugs and a big fat smuck, always your Haidi
